Worrying is praying for what you don't want

Hi friends,

It's been too long since we posted anything on our blog. Work has been intense the last weeks and Gas, Lawan (our Thai colleague) and I have worked like crazy...

Life here is wonderful as we found our rhythm: bouldering, yoga, Sangha (meditation), thai classes, climbing in the weekend. I feel structure in life is good, it helps you to get balanced. What we discovered is that there are so many moments where we are reminded to live mindfully here. Mindfulness bells are everywhere. Friends we meet here are living in the same mindset and try their best to live every day intensively, enjoying every moment and all the small things. I find that many are 'awake', they do not live their life sleeping... I found that sometimes in Belgium we think that we have no choice... about what we consume, about what we can do to reverse global warming or about the friends we meet, the movies we see... but WE HAVE the choice. We can do so many things to take our own future, our destiny in our own hands :-) career is for many an obstacle to true happiness... Not easy to let go of our ego, which is always teasing us and telling us things we think we have to do. We are free...

On the picture you see some of our friends at the Wild Rose yoga studio. We watched a fantastic movie on Monday: What about me. (I recommend it!!!) It mixes music from all over the world with the most inspiring short interview from famous people (like Noam Chomsky, the author of the Power of Now, religious leaders, etc.) it is so beautiful. In the movie someone says: "Worrying is praying for what you don't want". Also, the author of the power of now explains why people get addicted: "We feel emptiness in ourselves and we want to fill it. We are hungry to fill that "gap". We do not accept ourselves the way we are and think that there is something missing. But this is the way you are, this is it. "

"Why are we so hard on ourselves..." Many things that resonate with me :-) (and maybe some of you) Ok, have to get back to work.
I'm thinking of you, friends.

De mensen in Thailand kunnen blij met jullie zijn :) ZO BETROKKEN & ZO BIJZONDER! Enjoy!!!!!

Worrying is like a prayer for what you don't want...
I first heard that in March 2012, and since then I have been sorta searching off'n'on for the source. Some say Bhagavan Das, Robert DowneyJr , AA ... Do you know the source? ( guyatree.tumblr.com is asking 120504)
